Software Engineer - Tools and Applications

Visionist, Inc. builds and maintains AI tools and applications for a Prime contract, with a focus on high availability and security. What you’ll work on

• Develop high-quality AI tools and applications for the workforce to use.
• Help ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and security across AI tools.
• Adapt and extend FOSS (Free and Open-Source Software) to fit the customer’s use cases.
• Maintain existing customer-facing infrastructure and applications, keeping services dependable.

How you’ll collaborate

• Engage with customers on a regular basis through requirements elicitation.
• Translate customer needs into solutions that address real operational requirements.
• Use strong communication to align on outcomes and clarify questions as technologies evolve.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (an additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree).
• 3 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with Python or another Object-Oriented Programming language.
• Knowledge of using LLMs as part of a code solution workflow.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions.
• Familiarity with UI/UX principles.

Compensation

Salary range: $115,000 - $160,000 per year. Salary and additional compensation options are determined individually after the interview, based on years of experience, skills, education/certifications, contract specifications, and market conditions.
