Software Engineer, Senior

Senior full stack software engineer onsite in McLean, VA, responsible for designing, building, integrating, and deploying AI enabled cybersecurity capabilities for Booz Allen Hamilton customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and release new capabilities.
• Implement Agentic AI software and stitch together cybersecurity tools to deliver defensive cyber solutions for clients.
• Lead greenfield software development initiatives.
• End to end integration with the industry’s leading cybersecurity tools per the team roadmap.
• Use AI coding tools to rapidly scaffold, implement, review, and test new software features.
• Work autonomously in the face of ambiguous requirements.
• Convert complex requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
• Architect solutions and design approaches.
• Estimate complexity and plan sequencing of work.
• Implement the capability and deliver production ready software.
• Operate within a high velocity engineering team that keeps pace with technology.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience with Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• At least 6 years of experience with data storage technologies such as SQL, document databases, or graph databases.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud and containers (such as AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes).
• At least 3 years of system to system integration development experience via APIs.
• At least 3 years deploying, configuring, and operating applications and tools.
• Experience with LLM, Agentic AI, RAG, and MCP implementation.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.

Work Model

Compensation

Projected compensation range: USD 86,800 to USD 198,000 per year. Location and other factors influence final compensation; the range shown reflects typical bounds for this role.
