Software Engineer, Platform
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs, including the public TTS endpoint and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking, aligned with business needs and scalability goals
- Own the full backend API landscape, driving improvements in performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B initiatives to tailor integrations and solutions for enterprise clients
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure backend architecture supports the product strategy and user experience
What you'll do
- Build and maintain scalable APIs, covering both the public Text to Speech service and internal modules for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and usage analytics
- Guide the entire backend API stack toward higher performance and easier maintenance
- Support enterprise engagements with customized integrations and enterprise-grade solutions
- Coordinate with product, design, and other teams to ensure backend decisions align with the product roadmap and user experience
Requirements
- Proven backend development experience with TypeScript and Node.js (required)
Ideal candidate should have
- Hands-on backend development experience using TS/Node (required)
- Direct experience with GCP and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
- Ability to ideate and implement with a focus on urgency and impact
- Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
- Preferred: Proficiency deploying highly available applications on Kubernetes

Compensation and location
- Location: Saint Paul, MN onsite
- Salary: USD 140,000 - 200,000 per year
- Bonus and stock options available depending on experience
