Job Description

This Software Engineer III role within JPMorgan Chase's Global Banking and Payments Technology group is based onsite in Chicago, IL, with a salary range of USD 114,000 to 155,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance Alteryx workflows to support analytics processes
  • Develop and manage Tableau dashboards, ensuring existing visuals stay current
  • Support backlog refinement and request prioritization in collaboration with the team lead
  • Partner with cross functional teams to collect data, analyze processes, and propose improvements to strengthen controls
  • Design and implement workflows that consume data and publish results to API endpoints
  • Thoroughly test dashboards for functionality, data accuracy, and performance
  • Identify data patterns and hidden issues, using insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Standardize UI and UX across all visualizations
  • Leverage enterprise AI assisted coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity on complex deliverables, with peer reviews, automated tests, and secure coding practices; share learnings and reusable patterns with the team
  • Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI assisted development and automation, to maximize automation value
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new technologies

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in Software Engineering plus 3+ years of hands-on experience
  • Strong experience with data wrangling using Alteryx
  • Experience integrating Python within Alteryx workflows
  • Solid data warehouse fundamentals, including writing complex SQL with multiple joins to automate or manipulate extracts in Alteryx/macros
  • Proven ability to develop medium to complex Tableau dashboards
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with relational and dimensional modeling
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise AI assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation, with ability to critically evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and security
  • Awareness of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs and outputs; ability to guide peers on safe usage
  • Strong design and development skills with experience in an Agile environment that includes CI/CD
