Software Engineer - Entry Level

Boeing’s Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to help build and evolve software systems that support advanced analysis and mission capabilities. This onsite role at Annapolis Junction, Maryland focuses on software development across RF signal processing, analytics and visualization, and integration across hardware platforms.

In this position, you will work with documented requirements to deliver and improve complex software, including data-intensive analytics, real-time systems, and business management information systems, while contributing to modern development programs and solution design.

What you’ll do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems based on documented requirements
• Contribute to cutting-edge development programs and help design new solutions
• Innovate RF signal processing applications
• Build analytics, visualization, and discovery tools
• Integrate new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factors
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements, document test results, resolve software problem reports, and support ongoing issue remediation
• Provide software input to system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and appropriate use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, plus requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Four (4) years of Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree
• Proficiency with RF signal processing applications
• Proficiency working in Linux development environments
• Proficiency coding in Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript

Desired qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
• Experience with Software-Defined Radio (SDR) programming
• Experience with geospatial processing
• Experience coding 2D and 3D image displays
• Experience with GitLab, GitHub, or similar version control tools
• Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools

Location and pay range

• Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite)
• Pay range: USD 125,000 to 150,000 per year
• Telework/Remote availability: Telework/Remote work currently not authorized
