Software Engineer

NeoMax is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to strengthen its engineering team in Herndon, VA with an onsite work arrangement. This role focuses on delivering and improving cloud-based software capabilities, supporting infrastructure automation, and contributing to security-minded development across application and infrastructure components.

If you have deep hands-on experience with cloud services, Linux, scripting, and infrastructure as code, you will fit naturally into a collaborative environment where mentoring and engineering teamwork are expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform software development duties using GitHub and participate in DevOps workflows while working primarily with Java and Python
• Research and evaluate new technologies related to object-oriented programming
• Work effectively in an engineering team setting alongside teammates with varied skill levels
• Provide support to other team members through mentoring
• Obtain and maintain the appropriate clearances required for the role

Requirements

• Experience with cloud-based services, with AWS preferred
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting
• Infrastructure as code experience; Ansible is required
• Experience conducting security review of applications and infrastructure
• 4+ years of experience participating in agile activities
• Education: a bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred, along with 11+ years of relevant experience
