Software Developer IV

ADNET Systems, Inc. is hiring a Software Developer IV to support the AEGIS contract for NASA’s Katherine Johnson IV&V program in Fairmont, WV (onsite). This role focuses on enterprise software packaging and deployment, endpoint management, and compliance tooling across virtual and physical environments.

Core Responsibilities

• Support and maintain deployment of 100+ software applications on IV&V workstations and VDI.
• Create, modify, and optimize MSI packages and MST transforms using vendor setups or legacy installations.
• Convert .exe and legacy installations into clean, silent-install MSI packages, including package creation using capture tools such as Repackager.
• Develop custom installation actions using PowerShell and VBScript to support complex configurations and registry adjustments.
• Debug installation failures by analyzing logs, resolving file and registry conflicts, and validating packages on clean virtual machines.
• Edit and validate MSI databases at the table level using tools such as AdminStudio to resolve ICE (Internal Consistency Errors).
• Manage day-to-day operations, updates, and maintenance for virtual and physical KACE SMA appliances.
• Oversee deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of the KACE Agent across IV&V network-connected devices.
• Package, test, and remotely deploy applications and scripts, including KScripts, PowerShell, VBScript, or Shell.
• Design execution logic that uses Verify and Remediation parameters to address endpoint compliance issues.
• Implement discovery scans to inventory hardware, network peripherals, and software assets, and use the software catalog to track usage, reconcile licenses, and produce compliance audits.
• Build and manage Smart Labels with advanced filtering and LDAP queries to target specific user groups, offices, or device types.
• Design custom SQL and wizard-generated reports showing hardware lifecycles, patch levels, and software compliance metrics.
• Configure and maintain KACE Service Desk workflows, ticket queues, and knowledge bases.
• Maintain BigFix architecture, including core servers, relays, and database components.
• Monitor system health and optimize relay hierarchies to improve bandwidth utilization.
• Troubleshoot agent connectivity and resolve deployment failures.
• Develop and test Fixlets and tasks for custom software deployments.
• Manage third-party application updates to reduce security vulnerabilities.
• Generate compliance reporting for leadership and audit teams.
• Manage the IT Services SharePoint site, including document libraries, lists, metadata columns, and unique item-level permissions.
• Manage Power Automate workflows for internal IT processes.
• Connect SharePoint and Power Automate with Power Apps and external REST APIs.
• Monitor Power Automate flow run histories and address integration errors.
• Monitor NASA SOC Mitigation Action Requirement (MAR) announcements and mitigate vulnerabilities as required by the Agency.
• Perform daily system and patch compliance checks to keep IV&V systems current on critical security patches.
• Attend bi-weekly CSET BigFix meetings to stay informed about upcoming changes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of dedicated experience in Windows application packaging and software distribution.
• Proficiency with Flexera AdminStudio.
• 3+ years of experience with PowerShell and VBScript.
• 3+ years of experience in web application development and maintenance.
• 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining Power Automate workflows.
• Deep administrative understanding of Windows Server/Client, Active Directory and GPOs, and core network configurations (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP).
• Highly proficient scripting for custom KScripts within KACE using PowerShell, VBScript, or Bash.
• 3+ years of hands-on administration with Quest KACE SMA (K1000) Administrator Console, plus experience administering BigFix.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, excellent cross-departmental communication, and disciplined Change Management practices.
• Proficiency writing custom Relevance queries for targeting and filtering.
• Experience creating BigFix Action Scripts for automation and configuration.
• Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server administration related to BigFix.
• Ability to manage and prioritize individual and team workloads independently.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Excellent customer service and strong oral and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced expertise using AdminStudio for complex application packaging.
• Hands-on experience optimizing enterprise Quest KACE SMA and HCL BigFix environments.
• Proven troubleshooting experience for intricate application errors in legacy and modern Windows environments.
• Hands-on experience configuring SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Automate.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.
