The Software Developer (BEAVER) Journeyman role is onsite at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD, with opportunities to work in California, MD and Patuxent River, MD. The position carries a salary of USD 128,999 to 150,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits program designed to support employees and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Develops software for an advanced synthetic training environment used to assist in the debrief of pilots after a training event
  • Records all audio/video feeds and simulation data for synchronized playback from events
  • Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
  • Works within existing DevOps environment (automated builds, testing and deployment of software on multiple OS platforms)
  • Programs, evaluates and reviews using C++
  • Develops software requiring parallel processing, threading and inter-process communication
  • Develops software to simulate complex environments/platforms in real-time
  • Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering: Degrees in Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering may qualify OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 6 years of additional work experience (9 years total)
  • Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience coding with C++
  • Experience with shell scripts
  • Experience working with CMake
  • The ability to obtain and maintain clearance in accordance with 5205.07
  • AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
