Software Data Engineer
Job Description
Build and operate end-to-end data capabilities for Performance Marketing within The Walt Disney Company’s Enterprise Media and Marketing team.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of the tool suite used by the Performance Marketing group
- Lead data engineering, data modeling, and architectural standards across the team, with emphasis on pipeline rigor, observability, and documentation
- Design, create, and manage end-to-end data pipelines from source systems through delivery to downstream teams, applications, and users
- Partner with media and marketing experts to move from prototypes to production-ready pipelines and applications
- Build and maintain quality controls, monitoring, and safeguards to ensure optimizations are applied accurately and safely to in-flight ad campaigns and to keep key business metrics consistently correct
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3+ years designing and delivering backend architectures in a production environment, with strong knowledge of design patterns and best practices
- Strong judgment on how to use AI/LLMs in the software development process, including the ability to separate hype from value and apply it effectively
- Experience with Spark and SQL, and building simple, maintainable data pipelines on scaled data platforms
- Ability to dive deep into technical components as needed
- Experience operating in a fast-paced setting with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into reality-based requirements

- Knowledge of media buying and ad platforms, including DMPs, Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram, Innovid, LiveRamp, and DSPs (Google Display Video, The Trade Desk, Yahoo)

Compensation Details
- Remote role based in Burbank, CA
- Hiring range: $106,900.00 - $143,300.00 per year
- Base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary by geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
