Responsibilities
- Lead the full technical development lifecycle from initial concept through production handoff and bulk approval
- Collaborate with Design and Product Development to translate design intent into technical direction and deliver products that meet brand standards for fit, function, quality, and performance
- Lead fit assessments and proactively spot opportunities to enhance fit, construction, and manufacturing execution
- Drive consistent fit results through rigorous technical analysis, corrections, visual reviews, and block and pattern development
- Review and approve sample measurements, construction details, specifications, and BOMs to ensure production readiness
- Develop and manage graded patterns for Men’s and Youth sizes, ensuring consistency and scalability
- Lead cross‑functional fit sessions and communicate clear recommendations, decisions, and next steps to internal and external partners
- Collaborate with overseas development and manufacturing partners to troubleshoot technical challenges and implement solutions
- Establish and refine technical development processes, standards, and guidelines to boost efficiency and product consistency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Technical Development, Product Development, and related teams
- Translate assigned styles from SMS to bulk production, releasing final specs for fit, construction, and BOM
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent professional background
- 8 to 12 plus years in Apparel Technical Design or Development, with a focus on men's apparel
- Advanced expertise in garment construction, patternmaking, fit standards, grading, and manufacturing workflows
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex product categories from concept to production
- Strong product sense with experience across technical apparel categories such as shirts, pants, shorts, layering, outerwear, and performance items
- Experience collaborating with Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Product teams in a fast-paced development setting
- Deep knowledge of BOMs, specifications, tech packs, and PLM systems
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and technical drawing software
- Strong analytical ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and propose technically sound solutions
- Excellent organization, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to influence and collaborate across teams with clear communication to both technical and creative partners
- Highly adaptable, solutions-focused, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and change
- Passion for product innovation, craftsmanship, and reliable everyday wear
