Job Description

Senior Footwear Developer at Nike in Beaverton, OR (remote) leads end-to-end product development from concept through commercialization and production, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and alignment with sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product creation process from initial concept to commercialization and production for assigned models, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to product specs, sustainability, performance, and profitability targets.
  • Translate complex briefs and 2D design renders into 3D samples that satisfy consumer and business needs.
  • Coordinate gates and dates for stakeholders to receive samples, gather feedback, and determine readiness to move forward.
  • Collaborate across all phases of the product lifecycle and communicate with the Asia-based partner management office and factory development center to deliver briefs that meet consumer requirements.
  • Influence project direction to keep the team aligned toward shared objectives.
  • Apply footwear manufacturing technologies, tooling, and materials, and validate product performance through these media to deliver quality footwear for sport athletes.
  • Oversee the footwear costing structure and implement cost-control strategies across materials, processes, and labor during development.

Requirements

  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in footwear creation and development.
  • Experience in mold and tooling creation.
  • Prototyping skills.
  • Experience with product testing and athlete validation.
  • Manufacturing knowledge within footwear development.
  • Biomechanics or athlete services expertise.
  • Footwear performance applications experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, Project Management, or Fashion Design, plus five years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a design-related occupation.
