Senior Data Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer at Cook Group designs, implements, and documents data systems and data pipelines aligned to business specifications. This onsite role supports operational continuity, maintains compliance with data and architectural standards, and contributes to continuous improvement within the Data Engineering community of practice.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to define and document data and data pipelines for a range of solutions.
- Own technical responsibility for data and pipelines to ensure alignment with documented requirements, data standards, and architectural standards.
- Develop and maintain current-state documentation and deliverables for data solutions.
- Maintain and extend existing and new data solutions to ensure they continue to meet user needs.
- Support operational teams to help ensure service continuity.
- Participate in the Data Engineering community of practice to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Perform work independently with a high degree of latitude, addressing the most complex issues as a subject matter expert.
- Interact effectively and professionally with stakeholders across various levels of the global organization.

Technology and Tools
- Relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB (MongoDB experience is included in the listed technologies)
- Data transformations, data structures, data pipelines, and data integration tools
- Object-oriented or object function scripting languages
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related degree; or equivalent experience providing a comparable background.
- 8 or more years of experience.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and/or MongoDB preferred.
- Experience building data transformations, data structures, and data pipelines.
- Experience with data integration tools.
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
Work Environment
- Works under general office environment conditions.
- Sits for extended periods and uses close visual acuity when working with computers and related equipment.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation under the ADA.
- Occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences.
- International and domestic travel as required.
