Production Data Engineer

Toyota Financial Services Site Reliability Engineering is seeking a Production Data Engineer to troubleshoot and drive resolution of production issues across financial software and systems, partnering with product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for production support, owning and resolving tickets across multiple business units
• Triage and prioritize support tickets based on urgency and impact
• Perform root cause analysis and apply critical thinking to resolve complex production problems
• Analyze support ticket trends to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
• Document processes, resolutions, and recurring issues for knowledge management and training
• Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce ticket volume and improve efficiency
• Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues
• Collaborate with the Major Incident Management team to address and resolve critical production environment issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing data pipelines across multiple systems and platforms
• 5+ years of experience applying data and systems engineering principles across the data lifecycle
• 4+ years of experience working with operational and analytical workloads
• Experience building and supporting full-stack data engineering solutions
• Experience developing reusable and scalable data frameworks
• Experience understanding functional and non-functional requirements gathering
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with Enterprise Data Warehouse, ETL, and Data Management concepts and processes
• Experience working with cloud-based, analytical, distributed, and open-source technologies
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with optimizing cloud resource usage and cost through rightsizing and autoscaling configurations
• 4+ years of experience automating operational tasks and incident response using scripting and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
