Job Description

FactSet Research Systems is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development and deployment of advanced, AI-driven solutions. This remote role in Connecticut focuses on building machine learning models for text data classification and natural language processing, with an emphasis on strong technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Role summary

In this position, you will spearhead innovative projects and take a hands-on role in optimizing machine learning techniques for NLP and text classification use cases. You will also collaborate with product teams to align AI capabilities with strategic business goals while helping drive the integration of multiple machine learning approaches to improve results across domain-specific applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Spearhead innovative projects focused on developing and implementing advanced AI-driven solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate diverse machine learning models, with emphasis on text data classification and natural language processing.
  • Collaborate on AI initiatives that translate data insights into enhanced, domain-specific applications.
  • Serve as a key technical leader and provide thought leadership on best practices in the field.
  • Work cross-functionally with product teams to align AI capabilities with strategic business goals.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends to continuously improve the effectiveness of AI solutions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 6 years of related technical experience.
  • 3 years of experience with Node.js.
  • 3 years of experience with MongoDB.
  • 3 years of experience with RabbitMQ.
  • 3 years of experience with a caching technology such as Redis or Memcached.
  • 3 years of experience with Git.
  • 3 years of experience with Restful Web Design.
  • 3 years of experience working with time series data.
  • 3 years of experience with Python.
  • 3 years of experience with Elasticsearch.
  • 3 years of experience with scikit-learn.
  • 3 years of experience with Numpy.
  • 3 years of experience with Spacy.
  • 3 years of experience applying machine learning techniques (SVM, logistic regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest, XGBoost, and deep learning such as RNN/LSTM) on text data for domain-specific text classifications.
  • 3 years of experience with NLP processing for data mining, cleaning, pre-processing, and transformation.
  • 3 years of experience combining multiple ML approaches such as active/supervised/semi-supervised learning to improve results.
  • 3 years of experience developing tagged data sets.

Compensation

USD 177,000 - 217,000 per year.
