Part-Time Fund Developer
Job Description
The Part-Time Fund Developer role at Prelude Ministries operates within the Ministry Executive Team, contributing 25 hours per week from a hybrid work arrangement in Woodbury, Minnesota. This position focuses on cultivating donor relationships, soliciting gifts, and securing funding to broaden ministry impact.
Responsibilities
- Engage in 15 qualified donor conversations weekly with emphasis on understanding, alignment, and trust building.
- Initiate and sustain meaningful, gospel centered dialogues with current and prospective supporters.
- Identify and engage prospects through relationships, supportive families, referrals, and management of a pipeline exceeding 1,500 prospects in the database.
- Add 3 to 5 qualified new donor prospects each month.
- Follow up consistently with donors and invite visits to ministry locations, conversations with pastors, and exposure to impactful testimonies.
- Hold 8 to 10 face to face or virtual cultivation meetings every month.
- Make clear and direct asks for major gifts in the 5,000 to 10,000 dollar range and for recurring support.
- Aim for an annual fundraising target of at least 150,000 dollars.
- Send thank you communications within 48 hours of gift receipt.
- Provide quarterly impact updates to major donors.
- Maintain accurate records with complete documentation of donor interactions.
- Develop and execute annual and quarterly fundraising plans.
- Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities.
- Assist with campaigns, events, and special fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborate with ministry leadership to develop compelling ministry stories, testimonies, and impact reports.
- Support grant identification and relationship-building with potential foundations and ministry partners.
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission and values of Prelude Ministries.
- Passion for fundraising as a ministry of relationship-building and disciple-making.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and storytelling abilities.
- Minimum of five years in fundraising, donor development, nonprofit advancement, or major gift work.
- Experience raising personal support or ministry funding.
- Experience working with churches or faith-based organizations.
- Proven track record of achieving measurable fundraising and relationship-development goals.
- Ability to initiate conversations and build trust with diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
- Proficiency with donor databases, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
