Machine Learning Engineer

The JAAW Group LLC is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to support the War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration effort for the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). In this role, you will help deliver machine learning capabilities across the full lifecycle, with a focus on secure Department of Defense environments. You will work alongside AI, data, software, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to build, operate, and continually improve ML systems.

What you will do

• Develop infrastructure to train, validate, deploy, and operate machine learning models
• Design and implement automated machine learning pipelines
• Build and maintain model-serving capabilities to support efficient inference
• Create reusable ML components, libraries, and engineering utilities
• Apply MLOps practices to enable continuous integration and deployment of models
• Develop tools and processes for model monitoring, performance tracking, and explainability
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines meet machine learning requirements
• Develop testing frameworks and maintain technical documentation for ML components and processes

What you will bring

• Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding
• U.S. citizenship required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience developing, deploying, or supporting machine learning systems
• Experience with machine learning frameworks, programming languages, or ML development platforms
• Understanding of model training, validation, deployment, inference, monitoring, and testing
• Strong programming, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government environments
• Experience with MLOps and automated ML pipelines
• Experience with model serving and inference platforms
• Experience with model monitoring, performance tracking, or explainability
• Experience with scalable cloud or platform infrastructure supporting ML workloads
