Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Hang operates a loyalty platform and is looking to elevate its capabilities with advanced machine learning. This onsite role in Los Angeles seeks a seasoned ML Engineer to design, build, and deploy models that enhance personalization, predictive analytics, and automated decisioning, collaborating with cross-functional teams. The aim is to turn data into tangible improvements that guide Hang’s product strategy.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning solutions that boost customer personalization, predictive analytics, and automated decisioning across Hang’s platform.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends and patterns that inform model development and business strategy.
- Experiment with algorithms and tune them to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product managers to integrate models and ensure smooth deployment.
- Stay current with the latest ML and AI developments and explore new techniques and technologies that could benefit Hang.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the strategic direction of the technology team by sharing best practices.
Who you are
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field; a PhD is a plus.
- Five or more years of experience in machine learning and data-oriented roles.
- Proven track record as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong Python skills with familiarity in ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with data processing and analytics.
- Hands-on experience with vector databases and managing high-dimensional data; familiarity with Redis, Milvus, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, or Faiss is required.
- Solid knowledge of ML techniques and algorithms, including fine-tuning processes and methodologies.
- Experience deploying Large Language Models in production, with emphasis on optimization and scaling.
- Proficiency with Snowflake, Postgres, RDS, Redis, and AWS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Ruby experience is a plus.
