Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Identify and define innovative AI solutions that leverage machine learning, Generative AI, and Large Language Models.
- Design, develop, and validate prototypes, PoCs, and new features to demonstrate AI feasibility and value.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to research, design, and evaluate AI solutions that enhance BMW's in-vehicle and mobility experiences.
- Help secure core Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) relevant to future BMW products and services.
- Share findings with the international research community to help shape BMW's global AI strategy and guide future research directions.
- Scout emerging technologies and integrate advanced AI techniques into prototype systems and future architectures.
- Support strategic decision making by delivering insights that clarify AI technologies and influence R&D and Centers of Competence (CoCs).
Requirements
- Master’s degree in electronics, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong programming background in AI/ML and application development, including Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, LangChain, LangFlow, Kotlin, or equivalents.
- Comfortable presenting and defending technical solutions to internal and external teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem solving ability and the capacity to break down complex problems into manageable steps.
- Experience building and operating Cloud Applications (MLOps).
- At least one year of relevant professional experience in tech or a related field.

What you should bring

- Proficiency in programming languages and tools for AI, ML, and application development (e.g., Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LangFlow, Kotlin, or equivalents).
- Confident in presenting and defending technical solutions to internal and external teams.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to decompose complex problems into manageable steps.
- Experience building and running Cloud Applications (MLOps).
- At least one year of relevant professional experience in the tech industry or a related field.
