Job Description

This full-time Machine Learning Engineer role in Indianapolis focuses on building and deploying AI and ML tools to generate actionable insights for Rolls-Royce products. The position emphasizes data cleaning, model development, and clear communication of findings to diverse audiences, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Role Overview

This position centers on delivering AI and ML capabilities that support Rolls-Royce product insights. It entails collaborating across IT and Fleet engineering teams, handling data preparation, developing models, and presenting results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT and Rolls-Royce Fleet engineering teams to identify opportunities for applying digital technologies that yield meaningful impact and value.
  • Understand, clean, and analyze large datasets drawn from engine sensors, test rigs, and fleet operations.
  • Develop, train, and validate machine learning models for tasks including engineering knowledge search, anomaly research, production support, and predictive maintenance.
  • Document work clearly and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics with 2+ years of machine learning experience; OR a master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics; OR a PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, or Physics.
  • U.S. Citizen eligibility is required for consideration.
