Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer 2

Akina, Inc. is hiring an AI/ML Engineer to design, build, test, and productize machine learning solutions for business needs in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

• Design and create scalable AI/ML solutions focused on optimal performance across training, retraining, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, and iterative improvement
• Use iterative user and system feedback to improve models over time
• Select appropriate datasets for model development and evaluation
• Conduct statistical analysis and apply findings to improve model effectiveness
• Run machine learning algorithms and use results to refine model performance
• Train and retrain systems when needed
• Execute standard test and evaluation protocols
• Oversee system integration related to AI/ML components
• Lead iterative test and evaluation of AI and ML algorithms to meet verification and validation requirements
• Research and implement a broad range of AI and ML algorithms and tools
• Design or select data and knowledge representation methods
• Recognize and apply software architecture, data modeling, and data structures
• Convert and transform data science prototypes into scalable production solutions
• Verify data quality and validate model output quality
• Identify shifts in data distribution that can impact model performance
• May lead geographically diverse teams and often serve as a primary point of contact for AI-related matters

Requirements

• Must meet standard AIML2 labor category requirements
• Expert knowledge of multiple programming languages, e.g. Python, Java, C, R
• Experience with standard machine learning frameworks, e.g. PyTorch and TensorFlow
• Five (5) years experience in applied machine learning in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in advanced math, artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, or deep learning from an accredited college or university
• Substitution: 5 additional years of machine learning experience with a relevant Bachelor's degree may be substituted for a Master's degree

Salary Range: USD 207,000 - 253,000 per year

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (onsite)
