Job Description

KPMG is seeking a Lead Specialist for its Federal Advisory practice in Washington, DC to design, modernize, and optimize client data platforms using modern big data tools.

Responsibilities

  • Apply modern big data tools and approaches to solve complex business objectives
  • Develop and maintain big data platform requirements to evaluate client platforms, identify technology and process gaps, and deliver recommendations for modernization, cloud migration, and integration
  • Design cloud DevOps tools and services such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment and configuration, continuous integration and build servers, and cloud resource creation scripts
  • Lead multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, including client workshops and innovation sessions, to identify opportunities and optimization areas
  • Advance innovation and target solution efforts, help build extendable data platforms, and contribute to developing and presenting thought leadership

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of technical data engineering experience; U.S. Federal government consulting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Python and SQL experience required
  • Experience with Advana, Databricks, and Spark preferred
  • Experience with development tools and methodologies including Agile, Git, test driven development, and CI/CD release management
  • Experience with data architecture and integration and with coding/testing patterns using existing open-source software platforms
  • Experience leading project teams and client engagements
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
  • Must possess a U.S. Government Secret clearance
