Lead SCADA Developer
Job Description
Located in Midland, TX, Rogue Industrial Group is seeking an onsite Lead SCADA Developer. The role offers a salary of USD 135,000 to 150,000 per year and comes with a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k), health coverage, and paid time off. A bachelor’s degree is preferred and a minimum of three years in industrial automation is required.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a range of valves including control valves, pressure relief valves, and actuators
- Design, configure, and deploy SCADA systems using the Ignition platform by Inductive Automation to meet operational and client needs
- Integrate SCADA with PLCs, HMIs, SQL databases, and other control systems to ensure smooth data flow and performance
- Develop and maintain Ignition scripts and applications using Python, SQL, and related tools to enhance functionality
- Create intuitive HMI and SCADA visualizations for real time monitoring and control of industrial processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, connectivity, data integrity, and reliability of SCADA systems
- Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning to verify operation under various conditions
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Prepare and maintain thorough technical documentation, including system architecture, configurations, and user manuals
- Provide training and support to end users to ensure effective and safe system use
- Ensure SCADA implementations comply with industry standards, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory requirements
- Adhere to company safety policies and industry regulations during work
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial automation or SCADA system integration
- Hands on experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation, Ignition Core Certification preferred
- Experience integrating Kepware OPC servers and industrial communication systems
- PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modbus) and protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, Ethernet/IP
- Ignition Gold or Enterprise Certification
- Experience with cloud based SCADA solutions and IoT integration
- Familiarity with other SCADA platforms (Wonderware, FactoryTalk, etc.) for hybrid integrations
- Knowledge of industrial process control in sectors like manufacturing, oil and gas, water treatment, or energy
- Proficiency in Python scripting and SQL database management
- Strong understanding of industrial networking including TCP/IP, VPNs, and firewalls
- Knowledge of HMI design principles and data visualization best practices
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems
