Job Description

The Junior Embedded Software Engineer role supports Airborne Systems and contributes to software development for airborne computers, cryptographic products for identifying friendly aircraft, and weapon control systems used with precision guided weapons. This is an on-site position in Bloomington, MN within a cross-functional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a cross-functional team responsible for software supporting airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit.
  • Contribute to development efforts for crypto products used to identify friendly aircraft.
  • Support weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related STEM field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
  • Selected applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within company facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Applicants are encouraged to apply if they have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Knowledge and experience with C in embedded environments
  • Experience with bare metal software (no operating system)
  • Experience with memory map interfacing
  • Experience with communication buses: SPI/QSPI, UART, I2C
  • Experience with network protocols: RSTP, VLAN, PTP
  • Experience with anti-tamper/security
  • Understanding of software development process and software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Compensation

Estimated annual salary range: USD 100,153 - 109,000.
