Industrial HMI Developer II

Industrial HMI Designer and Developer based in Downers Grove, IL, with hybrid remote work after probation and 15-20% travel, offering a salary of USD 85,000 - 110,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customer project engineers and MSP automation engineers to design and implement HMI solutions that control automated production lines.
• Create and modify HMI programs using Ignition, Wonderware, and AB FactoryTalk for new systems and upgrades to existing ones.
• Perform testing and simulation of HMI applications to validate behavior and performance.
• Deploy HMI terminals onsite and adjust screen layouts during commissioning and startup activities.
• Configure communications between HMI servers and PLCs across network connections.
• Travel overnight as required, approximately 15 to 20 percent.

Requirements

• Associate technical degree or equivalent certification.
• At least three years of HMI development and deployment in an industrial setting, with primary experience on Wonderware, Ignition, and AB FactoryTalk SE and ME.
• Basic IT networking knowledge.
• Familiarity with high performance graphical design methodology (ISA-101).
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to doing it right the first time.
• Valid driver’s license for travel.
