Graphics Software Engineer
Job Description
Apple’s Silicon Engineering team in Austin, TX (onsite) is building the GPU tooling and workloads that help validate and verify graphics performance across the GPU lifecycle. In this role, you will help create mission-critical workloads, accelerate diagnosis of GPU architectural and silicon issues, and support production driver bring-up so teams can move from design intent to reliable hardware and software integration.
What you’ll do
- Own the tooling and workloads used across all stages of GPU development, from early feature specification through silicon bring-up and beyond.
- Design, implement, and maintain workloads for GPU architectural validation and design verification.
- Develop mission-critical workloads for graphics core verification.
- Partner with other GPU hardware teams from design bring-up through post-silicon to identify and debug architectural, logic, and silicon issues.
- Work with GPU software teams during production driver bring-up to quickly isolate and resolve software issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams at sites around the globe to support the goal of high-quality, high-efficiency Apple GPUs.
What you bring
- Strong foundation in the software graphics pipeline as applied to computer graphics and/or ML, demonstrated through coursework or industry experience.
- Experience with continuous integration, automated build systems, and regression systems.
- Communication skills and experience working in teams.
- BS + 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with computer and GPU architecture.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Experience with GPU programming using OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, DirectX, CUDA, or other APIs.
