Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description
Arkham Technology Ltd. is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, implement, and integrate firmware for our network security and communications products. This onsite role in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance, with opportunities to collaborate across hardware and software domains on mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, integrate, and document firmware and software for embedded systems and communication products
- Assist software engineering activities including interface design, system integration, code reviews, and software testing
- Contribute to internal reviews of software components and overall systems
- Produce project documentation to support contract deliverables, including development plans, requirements and design specifications, and test artifacts
- Develop embedded software for network security applications, covering device management, protocols, drivers, and control plane security features
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware solutions
- Manage requirements through decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in embedded systems design
- Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ or equivalent systems language
- Broad understanding of end-to-end network system architecture from wireless physical layer to the application endpoint
- Knowledge of MAC and Networking layers in communications systems
- Deep understanding of IPsec, network protocols, data authentication and encryption (TLS, SSL, OpenSSL, X.509 Certificates, etc.)
- Familiarity with CNSA security algorithms
- Experience with low-level hardware driver implementation
- Experience with embedded Linux
- Ability to work in a Bare Metal environment
- Familiarity with ARM architecture
- Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative team mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Willingness to travel periodically, as needed
