DevOps Software Engineer III

Software Engineer III (DevOps) role on JPMorganChase’s Branch Technologies Team, focused on delivering secure, stable, and scalable production technology.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions across design, development, and technical troubleshooting; approach complex problems beyond routine patterns
• Build secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronized algorithms with supporting systems
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are upheld through implementation
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize data into visualizations and reporting to support continuous improvement of applications and systems
• Identify hidden issues and recurring patterns in data, using findings to strengthen coding hygiene and system architecture
• Participate in software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, including activities such as code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, and documentation
• Validate AI-assisted outputs using peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; share learnings and reusable patterns to improve team effectiveness
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain knowledge, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase value from automation

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience performing DevOps and production SRE work, maintaining cloud infrastructure, and ensuring environment stability
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation
• Ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Working understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
• Ability to guide peers on safe and effective AI usage within team practices
• Proficiency in coding in one or more programming languages
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
