This role serves as a technical expert and lead engineer for the Data Platform team, establishing standards and creating reusable frameworks to enable scalable data capabilities. The position is based in Bethesda, MD with remote work options and offers a compensation range of USD 100,400 to 198,900 per year.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of a next generation cloud platform for data, analytics, AI, and machine learning.
- Research, analyze, design, and develop a broad set of data capabilities and products.
- Define technical standards and build reusable frameworks to enable consistent, scalable data capabilities and products.
- Own the technical delivery of Service Provider projects and guide their technical teams to deliver high quality, standards aligned, scalable outcomes.
- Explore emerging AI technologies to enable future capabilities and address complex technical challenges.
- Make decisions on complex, non routine requests to support analytics driven decisioning by Marriott business teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years hands-on experience building large scale data ETL pipelines and applications at enterprise scale
- 2+ years delivering large-scale data pipelines and applications on AWS cloud technologies and the Snowflake data platform
- Proven technical leadership with the ability to guide Service Provider technical resources
- Strong communication skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related Engineering
- Graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Technology certifications in Snowflake and AWS
- Experience with Airflow, Python, and API calls
- Experience with data governance, privacy, and data quality techniques
- Experience with agile software methodologies
