Job Description
Data Engineer II in Seattle, onsite, to design, build, and operate the next generation data ingestion platform for AWS Analytics Engineering, enabling automatic onboarding of data from new AWS services at scale.
Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)
Salary: USD 132,100 - 178,800 per year

Responsibilities
- Architect and run the next generation ingestion service that auto onboards data from new AWS services or features at launch with no manual setup.
- Develop scalable ingestion frameworks capable of handling petabytes of data.
- Build big data procurement pipelines to support analytics workloads.
- Institute governance, compliance, and audit controls to ensure data meets security and integrity standards.
- Ensure the platform scales to multiple services and supports event driven architectures, self registration, and configuration driven onboarding with full lineage and audit trails.
- Lay the foundational layer that enables all analytics capabilities across AWS Analytics Engineering.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large scale BI data structures for analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large scale BI data structures with data modeling experience.
- 3+ years of SQL experience.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Experience with enterprise scale infrastructure or cloud programs/projects in a related industry.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT, or equivalent.
- Experience implementing data governance controls including access management, encryption, data classification, and audit logging.
