Compensation for this on-site role in Seattle, WA ranges from USD 132,100 to USD 178,800 per year.

Team and culture

As a Data Engineer II on the AWS AMPS team, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure to enable analytics and machine learning across AWS Marketplace. Our work supports external Marketplace sellers and more than 3,000 internal stakeholders across Finance, Sales, and Partnerships. We are building a unified Canonical Data Model on Redshift and Data Lake, handling greenfield data engineering at scale, and prioritizing data quality and security as core principles.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement next generation data pipelines and BI solutions
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda, and more
  • Deliver robust data architectures and pipelines to support business analysts, data scientists, and customer reporting
  • Collaborate with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources
  • Improve reporting and analysis processes, automating self-service capabilities where possible
  • Work with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and BI Engineers on high priority data initiatives for internal stakeholders and AWS customers
  • Build automated, fault-tolerant, scalable data solutions using Spark, EMR, Python, Redshift, Glue, S3, and related technologies
  • Apply creative thinking to anticipate needs and solve problems
  • Continuously evaluate and improve strategy, architecture, tooling, and codebase to maximize performance and availability

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar systems
  • 3+ years of experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR, Storm, or Samza
  • Master's degree preferred
