Job Description

Data Engineer I focuses on building and deploying data pipelines and solutions that enable AI, machine learning, and enterprise analytics, coordinating with teams to ensure accessible data and actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate sophisticated data solutions, troubleshoot issues, apply transformations, and propose data cleansing and quality improvements.
  • Architect and design data systems and pipelines to support analytical initiatives.
  • Assess data sources to determine value and identify data to incorporate into analytics workflows.
  • Apply core data management practices including governance, security, and quality controls.
  • Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate users on data products and analytic environments.
  • Analyze data and systems, evaluate defects and moderate incidents, and implement appropriate resolutions.
  • Validate data movement, transformation logic, and data components through testing.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
  • Six years of relevant experience in data or software engineering.
  • Experience applying AI techniques with OpenAI and AWS Bedrock to drive innovative projects.
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL, AWS services, Databricks, and related technologies for building robust AI applications.
  • Terraform proficiency to streamline infrastructure management and deployment.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs to enable seamless integrations and functionalities.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, programming languages, and standard software engineering practices.
  • Ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace and decompose tasks into small releases while engaging in tradeoff discussions.
  • Demonstrated domain expertise with deep understanding of the systems you work on.
  • Strong problem solving and debugging abilities to identify root causes in unfamiliar code or systems and address recurring issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration with teammates and business partners.
  • Intermediate leadership skills with a track record of self-directed growth.
  • Two additional years of software or data engineering experience beyond the baseline.

Salary Range: USD 109,300 - 180,200 per year
