Job Description
Meta offers a compelling, on-site Data Engineer role in Bellevue, WA where you’ll design scalable data architectures, logging frameworks, and data models to power Ranking AI initiatives within Meta's Ads stack. This position places you at the intersection of engineering, data science, and product strategy, collaborating to turn data into growth opportunities for Meta’s more than 3 billion users. The role comes with a competitive annual compensation range of USD 177,000 to 247,000, and you’ll work onsite to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Own and design data architectures for multiple large-scale initiatives, weighing design choices and operational costs against benefits across systems.
- Develop and contribute to logging frameworks to improve data collection efficacy, partnering with data infrastructure teams to triage and resolve issues.
- Partner with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to capture data needs and translate key insights into clear visual representations.
- Establish and oversee service level agreements for data sets within your domain of ownership.
- Define security models aligned with privacy requirements, ensure safeguards are followed, address data quality concerns, and evolve governance processes in your area.
- Create and deploy advanced data models and visualizations that support diverse use cases across products and domains.
- Address complex data integration challenges using efficient ETL patterns, frameworks, and queries across structured and unstructured sources.
- Support production processes, optimizing code with advanced algorithmic concepts.
- Improve pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to streamline the development of data artifacts.
- Influence product and cross-functional teams to uncover data opportunities with measurable impact.
- Mentor teammates by providing and receiving actionable feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in roles focused on working with data, such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar.
- 7+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (for example Python, C++, C#, Scala, or others).
