Data Engineer

DCI Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer in Washington, DC to integrate, transform, and operationalize data for cross-functional teams. The role uses Spark to support application development and operational decision-making, and it requires an Active Secret security clearance.

Location and Role Details

Location: Washington, DC (onsite, in person)

Job type: Full-time

Salary: USD 175,000 - 260,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Data Engineer on a cross-functional team focused on solving pressing problems
• Integrate data, transform insights, and build applications that support operational decisions
• Set up transfers of data feeds from source systems into the designated location
• Write transformations and derive new datasets using Spark for distributed computation
• Monitor build progress and debug build problems
• Design applications that address operational questions
• Execute requests for information (RFIs) related to the platform’s data footprint
• Collaborate with product teams while debugging and understanding the code behind the platform

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: BS in Computer Science / Engineering (or related career field) preferred
• Experience: Strong Data Engineering background
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, and/or Pandas
• Extensive coding and programming in Python
• Extensive coding and programming in SQL, R, or similar technologies
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures as they relate to software development
• Foundry: Experience is preferred
• Security clearance: Active Secret security clearance

• Building and managing data pipelines: 5 years (preferred)
