Job Description

Startek Pro Technologies is hiring a Data Engineer for an onsite role in Dallas, TX. This position designs, develops, and maintains scalable data pipelines and architectures that support analytics and machine learning use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize ETL workflows to move data efficiently from multiple sources into centralized data warehouses or lakes.
  • Design and maintain data models and schemas using dimensional modeling techniques that support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Manage large-scale big data systems using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and other distributed processing frameworks for complex datasets.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and convert them into scalable solutions using cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Data Lake.
  • Integrate data from diverse systems, including SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle), cloud databases, and linked data environments to produce unified datasets.
  • Write efficient SQL queries and scripts using Python or Bash to automate processes, support analysis, and troubleshoot data workflows.
  • Support the development of RESTful APIs to enable consistent access and integration with external applications or services.
  • Maintain performance while following data management best practices, security standards, and governance policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing and implementing data warehousing solutions using tools such as Informatica, Talend, or similar ETL platforms.
  • Strong SQL programming skills across Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud-based systems such as Azure Data Lake.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies, including Hadoop ecosystem components such as Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), Spark, Hive, and related frameworks.
  • Ability to build scalable ETL pipelines using Python, Shell scripting (Bash), or other scripting languages in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with AWS or Azure Public Cloud for deploying and managing big data systems.
  • Knowledge of data modeling principles, including dimensional modeling for analytics-focused data warehouse design.
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools such as Looker or similar visualization platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot data issues quickly while meeting high standards for data management quality.
