Job Description
In Springfield, the Office of Statewide Pretrial Services is seeking a Data Engineer to transform complex pretrial data into clear, actionable insights. Operating onsite under the Deputy Chief Information Officer, you will craft reports, dashboards, and data integrations that support OSPS programs across Illinois, with a compensation range of USD 91,848 to 116,184 per year.
Responsibilities
- Utilize SQL (MSSQL), R, and Python to access data, generate reports, assess operations, and spot trends.
- Conduct statistical analyses of pretrial data and build dashboards for senior leadership and community stakeholders.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in OSPS pretrial reports.
- Analyze pretrial operations data to identify trends and insights.
- Lead data integrations and reporting platform efforts with third-party vendors.
- Execute special research projects related to pretrial functions and operations.
- Develop best practices for data collection, integration, review, and quality assurance.
- Foster productive relationships with third-party software vendors, county pretrial departments, other government agencies, and community organizations involved in pretrial activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of pretrial services as well as related criminal justice and community corrections issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Three or more years of proficient use of MSSQL, R, and Python.
- Three years or more of experience with qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Eligibility to obtain LEADS certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A valid IllinoisDriver’s License and proof of automobile insurance to operate a personal vehicle on state business, with a safe driving record.
