Role overview

As a Data Engineer on a cross-functional team, you will help address pressing problems by integrating data, transforming insights, and delivering first-class applications for operational decisions. The role requires an active DoD Secret Clearance and is based on-site in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a Data Engineer on a cross-functional team to address key challenges
• Integrate data from multiple sources
• Transform data into actionable insights
• Develop robust applications to support operational decisions
• Set up transfers of data feeds from source systems to the designated location
• Implement data transformations
• Derive new datasets using Spark for distributed computation
• Monitor build progress and troubleshoot issues
• Design applications that answer operational questions
• Respond to information requests related to the platform's data footprint
• Collaborate with product teams while debugging and understanding the platform code

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or Engineering (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience across data transformation, data engineering, and software engineering
• Strong coding experience in Python and Java, plus TypeScript/JavaScript
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, and/or Pandas
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures as they relate to development
• Foundry experience is preferred
• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required (Secret)
• 5+ years in data engineering (preferred)
• 5+ years of Python coding/programming (preferred)
• 5+ years building and managing data pipelines (preferred)
• 5+ years in data transformation (preferred)
• Foundry: 1 year (preferred)
• Spark and/or PySpark: 3 years (preferred)
