Job Description
Data Engineer role focused on advancing human machine integration and data driven strategies for Air Force missions in Seattle, onsite.
Location: Seattle, WA (onsite) • Salary: USD 62,900 - 153,300 per year • Education: Bachelor's degree • Experience: 8+ years
Responsibilities
- Oversee data collection, integration, normalization, and standard analysis across multiple projects and platforms, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Design, maintain, evaluate, and test data solutions within the organization to meet evolving needs.
- Develop and implement policies and practices that safeguard, maximize the value of, and preserve the integrity of data assets and programs.
- Collect, store, process, and analyze raw and complex data from diverse sources; advocate data-driven use cases and design optimal data solutions; build processing systems leveraging data warehousing and modern database technologies.
- Maintain and monitor data quality across the enterprise architecture; report results and propose system changes to improve data quality across applications.
- Investigate data quality issues, determine root causes, correct errors, and create prototypes or process improvement plans and proofs of concept for selected solutions.
- Process unstructured data for analysis and integrate innovations and algorithms into data systems in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Lead complex data projects focused on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large data sets to generate insights across platforms.
- Assess hardware and software design needs and act on decisions to support data architecture requirements.
- Serve as a data subject matter expert, partnering with business owners or external clients to define analysis plans and deliver reporting results and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of related experience.
- U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance.
- Experience coordinating data collection, compilation, normalization, and standard analysis across diverse data platforms.
- Experience developing, maintaining, evaluating, and testing data solutions.
- Expertise building data pipelines that collect, store, process, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, architectures, and database technologies.
- Ability to design, implement, and manage complex data processing projects.
- Strong analytical skills to generate insights, operational reports, and data-driven recommendations.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and act as a data subject matter expert.
- Excellent communication for presenting complex analytics to varied audiences.
- Strong problem solving abilities and high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.
- Experience working with the Air Force.
- Familiarity with handling medical data and following HIPPA requirements.
- Understanding of data governance, protection, and management policies.
- Experience developing prototypes, process improvement plans, and proofs of concept solutions.
- Skilled at integrating algorithms and innovations into operational data systems.
- Familiarity with hardware and software decision-making for data architecture needs.
- Ability to assess and improve data quality and investigate root-cause issues.
