Analytics Data Engineer

Support a Federal government client by designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and analytics solutions using Databricks and cloud tooling.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the data solutions architect to define a data platform strategy.
• Provide hands-on expertise across the design, development, deployment, and testing of scalable data pipelines.
• Collaborate to design, document, and enforce a data development lifecycle for consistent processes using Databricks and cloud tooling.
• Analyze data sources, participate in requirements gathering, and offer guidance on data technology and data modeling best practices.
• Apply knowledge of data models, relationships, lineage mapping, and business rules to ensure solutions meet operational and business needs.
• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and systems in Databricks with CI/CD integrations, driving ongoing quality improvements.
• Establish an authoritative Lakehouse within the Analytics Platform to organize data required for post-award reporting and monitoring.
• Refresh and enhance dashboards and analytics outputs such as program financials, risk management, and customer engagement.
• Use advanced analytics and AI, including LLMs, to analyze unstructured program data, reduce manual review of post-award submissions, and support fraud, waste, and abuse detection and program management decisions.
• Identify automation opportunities with business stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (e.g., computer science, engineering, business analytics, information systems management, cybersecurity).
• Minimum six years of experience in a data engineering role or a related field.
• Proven ability to design and build scalable ETL pipelines from multiple data sources.
• Proficiency with Python, PySpark, and SQL for data manipulation and cleaning.
• Experience developing and deploying automation scripts to streamline data processing tasks.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining data storage systems such as data warehouses and data lakes.
• Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• US citizenship with the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability.
