AI / Machine Learning Engineer Sr Staff (Signal Processing)

Senior staff AI and machine learning engineer specializing in signal processing within Lockheed Martin's LAIC, guiding research through deployment and applying AI to signal processing challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy AI driven solutions for signal processing challenges, leveraging computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning as appropriate.
• Manage the full system development lifecycle from requirements and design to integration and flight testing.
• Own critical tasks and lead engineering teams to deliver robust, high‑quality results.
• Contribute to proposals and whitepapers to secure funding for AI research and development initiatives.
• Serve as technical lead and mentor junior engineers to grow their expertise.
• Provide guidance to team members to ensure successful project execution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan and deploy AI solutions.
• Translate complex technical concepts for non technical stakeholders.
• Engage with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Experience building with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or Keras.
• Proficient with Python and libraries including NumPy, OpenCV, Scikit‑learn, Pandas, SciPy, and related tools.
• Experience applying ML/DL to signal processing domains such as radar, communications, electronic warfare, sonar, audio, or biomedical.
• Broad experience applying AI across multiple lines of business and customer programs in large enterprises or government environments.
