Centauri Health Solutions seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Tempe, AZ to plan, design, develop, and improve cloud-based software as part of an Agile Scrum team. This role includes technical leadership across delivery timelines and continued growth alongside evolving cloud and software architecture trends.
Role Overview
In this position, you will translate logical application specifications into physical designs, build and troubleshoot complex application components, and support end-to-end delivery. You will also contribute to architecture evolution by staying current with expanding cloud offerings and software architecture trends.
Core Responsibilities
- Translate logical application specifications into physical application design.
- Write new application and service code in alignment with Centauri Health Solutions SES secure coding guidelines.
- Code, test, and troubleshoot complex applications and services using appropriate hardware, database, and programming technologies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, including unit tests.
- Test and develop programming modifications.
- Analyze application performance and take action to correct deficiencies.
- Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Define individual work assignments for junior team members.
- Mentor junior members of the development team.
Daily Mission
- Plan, design, and develop cloud-based software while working within a SCRUM team.
- Manage individual project priorities and timelines to meet expected deadlines and delivery schedules.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software using the most appropriate technologies.
- Stay up to date with expanding cloud offerings and trends in software architecture.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years experience with InterSystems HealthShare, IRIS, or Health Connect (Ensemble/Caché).
- 8+ years experience with XML/XSLT and parsing complex clinical data including CCDA and HL7 v2/v3.
- 5+ years experience with Caché ObjectScript, REST, SOAP API, and HL7v2.
- 5+ years experience with SQL concepts specifically within InterSystems Caché/IRIS.
- 5+ years experience with FHIR (R4) and building/consuming RESTful healthcare APIs.
- 5+ years in modern software engineering practices: Source Control (Git/GitLab), CI/CD pipelines, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Agile proficiency with extensive experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Integration leadership, including leading technical “Tiger Teams” or high-pressure vendor integrations (e.g., Epic, Clear, MedAllies).
- Cloud infrastructure experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure, including BigQuery exposure or GCP GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine).
- Experience with HealthShare Patient Index.
- Interoperability standards experience: 3+ years with TEFCA/QHIN frameworks or large-scale HIE Interoperability.
- Systems knowledge, including familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and core systems concepts such as Load Balancing and HA/DR.
