Compensation

Responsibilities

Incorporate embedded product code into the simulator framework
Integrate the simulator within a hardware-in-the-loop test setup
Support, maintain, or enhance tools used with the simulation such as the drawing editor or scripting extensions
Investigate and remediate performance issues in the simulator
Troubleshoot and fix functional issues such as crashes, build failures, or incorrect outputs
Collaborate with the team to develop estimates and assist with project planning
Support the qualification of simulator components for formal product verification
Create and update documentation
Address ad hoc questions from simulator users to determine if remediation is required

Required Qualifications

Degree in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics; strong preference for Software Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience
C coding experience with some knowledge of C++
U.S. citizenship is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Experience developing applications under UNIX/Linux (Windows experience is acceptable)
Embedded flight software build knowledge, comfortable with tools such as make
Linux POSIX mechanisms for IPC and threading
Familiarity with symbolic debugging tools (gdb, ddd, dbx)
Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Python, and Linux shell
Aerospace experience, especially with aircraft systems architecture
Experience in GUI development, Linux system administration, computational numerical methods, TCP/IP

Responsibilities

Research, architect, build, and test production equipment software
Develop software specifications based on internal product engineering requirements
Develop NI LabVIEW software and support legacy test software (C++)
Develop technical documentation to support all software implementations
Ensure proper functioning of equipment through ongoing software support and maintenance
Lead and/or participate in software code reviews
Read and interpret equipment and wiring schematics
Demonstrate understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for test or maintenance of parts or systems
Gather and review data concerning equipment specifications and company or customer requirements as required
Understand customer specifications to confirm operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality
Provide operators and technicians training to ensure proper equipment use

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science with 2 years of general software experience and 1 year of LabVIEW development, or Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 5 years of LabVIEW experience
Experience in LabVIEW object-oriented software development
Experience with C/C++, Python
Strong understanding of software principles
Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Experience troubleshooting and repairing testing equipment
Aerospace software development experience
Understanding of Software Qualifications per DO-178B
