Excelion Partners is seeking a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer to help build and verify mission-critical embedded software for advanced power, control, and electromechanical systems. This full-time role is onsite in Parsippany, NJ, with a salary range of USD 87,500 - 125,000 per year.

You will work in a highly regulated engineering environment alongside systems, hardware, and test teams, contributing to the development, testing, and validation activities across the full embedded software lifecycle. The work spans requirements analysis through software architecture, implementation, debugging, configuration management, documentation, and ongoing system validation.
Responsibilities
- Support development, testing, and validation of mission-critical embedded software for advanced power, control, and electromechanical systems.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams to design, implement, maintain, and verify embedded software solutions.
- Perform requirements analysis.
- Conduct software architecture and design.
- Code, debug, and test embedded software solutions.
- Handle configuration management.
- Develop documentation to support the development process.
- Perform system validation throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 2 to 7+ years of embedded software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C for embedded applications.
- Experience with C++, C#, or Python is a plus.
- Knowledge of microcontrollers, DSPs, JTAG/emulator-based debugging tools, and version control systems.
- Familiarity with coding standards, static analysis tools, code optimization techniques, and quality-focused development practices.
- Software architecture and design, embedded systems debugging, and software verification and validation (V&V).
- Experience with formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
- Ability to develop technical documentation.
