Job Description

Join Collins Aerospace Mission Systems in Cedar Rapids, IA, onsite, as an entry level Software Engineer focused on embedded software, networking, and secure communications. You will collaborate on requirements, implementation, test development, and certification, contributing to cost, schedule, and technical performance decisions as part of a team. This role offers a salary range of USD 57,200 to 108,800 per year and a comprehensive benefits package that supports health, retirement, education, and overall well being. A U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret level) are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software, networking, and communication products using C, C++, and Rust.
  • Collaborate on requirements, implementation, test development, and certification to drive project success.
  • Contribute as a member of a team and support initiatives across the program.
  • Participate in decisions affecting cost, schedule, and technical performance for the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) earned prior to start date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Some experience with embedded software development.
  • Some experience with C/C++, Rust, or Python programming languages.
