Job Description

Overview

Integration Innovation, Inc. (i3) is seeking a Software Engineer with 7+ years of professional experience to build command and control (C2) and autonomy software for uncrewed platforms, including planes, boats, vehicles, and submersibles. This is a new initiative using the latest .NET tools, software development best practices, and current technology to support multiple DoD customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with an Agile software team delivering value to a DoD customer through small, incremental iterations.
  • Follow established software safety practices to develop flight-critical software, including architecture reviews, documentation updates, and comprehensive testing of new capabilities.
  • Create software designs using best practices and object-oriented methodologies.
  • Build automated unit and integration-level tests.
  • Apply effective configuration management practices, including proper code maintenance, merging, and configuration management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor of Science degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the hard sciences.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Team player with creativity, adaptability, and a strong drive to learn.
  • Comfort working in a Linux environment.
  • Experience leading small to mid-sized development teams.
  • Familiarity with good configuration management practices.
  • Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance or higher.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with C#/.NET, Python, and Rust.
  • Understanding of Agile development, ideally Extreme Programming (XP).
  • Familiarity with Git for software source control and configuration management.
  • Experience with remote controlled boats, vehicles, or planes.
  • Experience with single board computers (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, etc.).
  • Familiarity with UxS command and control message formats, such as STANAG-4586, UCI, or MAVLink.
  • Experience developing next generation C2 architectures for the DoD.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Schedule

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, though additional hours may be required on occasion.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.

Location and Travel

  • In-office role in Huntsville, AL 35808.
  • CONUS travel required: less than 10%.
