Job Description

Research Innovations seeks a Senior Security Researcher with Top Secret/SCI clearance to lead the development of offense-grade cyber and network operations software across Windows, Linux/Unix, embedded, and network devices. This onsite role is based in St. Petersburg, FL or Melbourne, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop offense-grade software designed for denied, constrained, and adversarial environments
  • Design, implement, and debug custom CNO capabilities across userland, kernel, and network layers
  • Modernize, tear down, and re-engineer legacy and acquired tooling for performance, stealth, and maintainability
  • Build software that operates where defenders may not want it, including Windows, Linux/Unix, embedded, mobile, and network devices
  • Perform deep binary analysis and reverse engineering across various architectures and calling conventions
  • Own and evolve reproducible build systems, toolchains, and test harnesses
  • Work close to the metal, focusing on compilers, loaders, memory, execution flow, and runtime behavior
  • Travel as determined by the customer

Requirements

  • Substantial experience programming in C and Python
  • Direct experience developing CNO or exploit capabilities
  • Embedded or firmware development experience on resource-constrained systems
  • Experience with Windows applications using Visual Studio or .NET environments
  • Experience with UNIX applications using makefiles or comparable build environments
  • Familiarity with software version control tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, or CVS)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo)
  • Experience using software debugging and troubleshooting tools and techniques
  • Software analysis and reverse engineering experience
  • Comfort writing assembly or mixed C/ASM when required
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers
