Job Description

Raytheon Space and Air is hiring a Principal Radar Mode Software Developer to support Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar efforts in El Segundo, CA. This onsite role focuses on RT embedded radar mode software development and technical leadership across the full software lifecycle, including collaboration with multiple disciplines and program stakeholders.

Compensation: USD 118,300 - 224,900 per year

What you will do

  • Address complex technical problems and deliver highly innovative solutions.
  • Contribute across phases of the software development lifecycle, including software and hardware integration.
  • Develop RT embedded software for radar modes and capabilities.
  • Use expert-level investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with teams across multiple disciplines, including internal and external partners.
  • Support program and customer meetings and reviews.
  • Assist program leads with technical decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership for multiple key tasks or line items on programs.
  • Mentor multiple engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise across program needs.
  • Help drive performance across technical, cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Support system and software requirements and contribute to architecture generation and analysis as needed.
  • Contribute significantly to program milestones and customer deliverables.
  • Work onsite at the El Segundo, CA campus.
  • Be able to obtain special access programs (SAP/SAR) to support continuation of employment.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools for radar-development software.
  • Experience working with UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, or other RTOS.
  • Experience in an agile/scrum environment using a typical agile-oriented tool suite.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret clearance required prior to the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required, since only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred qualifications

  • Current DoD Secret and Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience developing radar software applications.
  • Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system.
  • Knowledge and experience with radar software architecture, signal or data processing, including RF SP techniques, advanced mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques, and simulations.
  • Direct experience with agile methodologies.
  • Proven analytical skills for troubleshooting tool and system operation performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

Role type: Onsite (primarily onsite). This position requires a security clearance, and the security clearance process is handled and adjudicated by DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA).
