PowerApps Developer Senior
Job Description
Senior PowerApps Developer (Contractor) supporting DC Public Schools on a long-term government project. This hybrid role in Washington, DC centers on designing, developing, and maintaining PowerApps and Power Platform solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain PowerApps applications solo or with a small team.
- Design and implement Power Automate flows including cloud flows, desktop flows, and business process flows.
- Create and configure workflows and automation solutions using Power Automate.
- Integrate low-code solutions with external systems and data sources.
- Maintain a suite of QuickBase applications, and customize HTML pages via the QuickBase API and the standard interface.
- Maintain existing data feeds to third-party vendors.
- Create and maintain new ETL processes as needed.
- Manage workload and assist with troubleshooting and urgent requests.
- On-site priorities will be assigned by the Manager of Applications with advance notice when possible.
- Reasonable time frames will be provided for agreed tasks.
- Critical tasks will be reviewed weekly, with timelines agreed between contractor and the Manager of Applications.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Extensive experience with Angular or another modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.js.
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience optimizing web applications for performance and usability.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs.
- Proficient understanding of version control systems, including Git.

Work Location and On-site Requirements
Location: Washington, DC (hybrid). The candidate must be willing to work 3 to 4 days on site. The final interview will be conducted in person.

Other Requirements
- The contractor shall meet with the Manager of Applications within one working day after the start of the engagement to begin professional services in support of DCPS operations.
- The contractor shall establish processes and systems to ensure organized resource management for QuickBase Applications, including project tracking and knowledge management, with complete documentation maintained in an annual cycle workplan.
- The contractor shall prepare draft and final versions of specific Program and Project Plans when necessary, detailing tasks, sub-tasks, dependencies, resource requirements, schedules, and milestone dates. When approved by the Director of Operations, these plans shall be used to monitor, control, and report progress.
- Access to classified documents, data, studies, reports, and other documentation may be required. Background checks and fingerprinting are required; onboarding will provide the Background and Fingerprinting Check Form; contractor will access a private, filtered network and perform duties as contractor personnel.
