Job Description
nLogic is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Software Developer to help advance mission-focused work for advanced missile defense systems in Huntsville, AL. In this onsite role, you will design and evolve modeling and simulation (M&S) software that supports system understanding, verification, and validation. What you will do
- Develop, modify, and maintain software supporting Modeling and Simulation products for advanced missile defense systems.
- Build scripts and software to implement, run, and evaluate simulation capabilities.
- Apply mathematical, physics, and aerospace concepts to develop simulation models and algorithms.
- Prototype high-level system requirements and Concepts of Operations (CONOPs) within M&S environments.
- Derive and apply aerospace and mathematical equations to support system and simulation requirements.
- Analyze simulation results and flight performance to assess system behavior and identify potential issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and support specification and model tuning as required.
- Develop and execute scripts to test software and analyze results.
- Support integration, verification, and validation of M&S software and simulation capabilities.
- Maintain technical documentation associated with M&S products.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, analysts, and other technical personnel to improve M&S capabilities.
What you need
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Relevant experience in software development, aerospace, systems engineering, or Modeling and Simulation.
- Demonstrated software development and coding skills.
- Strong understanding of mathematical and/or physics concepts and the ability to apply them to M&S.
- Experience with Modeling and Simulation on a missile defense or equivalent Department of Defense (DoD) system is highly desired.
- Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organizations and programs is preferred.
- Experience working in a Linux environment is preferred.
- Experience developing or working with simulation software, aerospace systems, or flight dynamics is preferred.
- Self-initiative, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to clearly express technical ideas, work effectively in a team, and manage in a multi-tasking environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
