Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of production ML models: design and implement neural networks, curate and refine data, train and tune models, deploy at scale with high throughput and uptime, and continuously assess results to improve accuracy and speed.
• Collaborate closely with Backend and DevOps teams as well as internal data labeling services.
• Apply OWASP Top 10 security practices to keep code protected from vulnerabilities.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices for data management related to the role.
• Follow information security policies, guidelines, and asset protection procedures.
• Escalate actual or suspected security or policy violations to the appropriate authority.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or a similar technical field, with substantial coursework in mathematics or statistics.
• 1 to 2 years of industry machine learning experience.
• Proven ability to train and deploy a deep learning model (image, NLP, video, or audio) into production with measurable improvement over a baseline, in industry or a personal project.
• Strong experience with high level ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffe, or Torch, and familiarity with others.
• Proficiency in Python, especially as it applies to the above ML frameworks.
• Ability to rapidly prototype data pipelines involving Python, Node, bash, and Linux command-line tools, especially with large datasets containing millions of files.
• Working knowledge of C++, Scala/Spark, SQL, Cassandra, and Docker, and readiness to pick up new technologies as needed.
• Up to date with the latest deep neural net research and architectures, including practical implementation in your ML framework of choice.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong team player with a can-do attitude.
