Imaging Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Join Google’s Platforms and Devices team to improve imaging performance by optimizing image quality through both hardware-aware software tuning and machine learning.
Responsibilities
- Drive image quality improvements across the full hardware and software stack, ensuring available hardware capabilities are utilized via software tuning
- Fine-tune 3A algorithms to maintain strong performance across different lighting and environmental conditions
- Develop software tools that use ML automation to streamline image quality (IQ) tuning, testing, benchmarking, and calibration workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Imaging Science, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience in Image Quality, Computer Vision, or a related technical field
- 2+ years building and implementing algorithms using Python and C++

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in a related field
- Experience with SoC/ISP constraints, 3A tuning, or applying Deep Learning to real-time imaging pipelines
- Proven track record delivering high-quality, commercial, market-facing consumer cameras
- Strong record of self-driven learning and rapid mastery of new technologies and domains
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional partners
Compensation
- USD 132,000 - 189,000 per year
